Hot dog mumije / Hot dog mummies


Složićete se da je hrana ukusnija kad je zabavna?  Nema ovde nikakve nauke. Lisnato testo, viršla senf, ali kad pogledate u ova namrštena lica i ove okice koje vrebaju ispod turbana, ne možete da odolite da ih ne gricnete i pokažete ko je glavni :)


  • 12 (vegetarjanskih) mini viršli
  • 500 gr (1 pakovanje) lisnatog testa
  • 1 jaje
  • malo senfa
  • malo brašna za posipanje

Zagrejte rernu na 200 stepeni.

Sačekajte da se lisnato testo otopi i pospite radnu podlogu sa malo brašna. Oklagijom istanjite testo na svega 2-3 mm debljine. Secite testo oštrim nožem na trakice širine otprilike 1 cm pa ih pri rolanju oko viršle još malo istanjite. Uvijajte testo oko viršle ostavljanjući prostor za 'lice' mumije i ne zaboravte turban :) To ponovite sa svim viršlicama i poređajte ih na pleh prekriven papirom za pečenje. Premažite umućenim jajetom kome ste dodali kašiku vode. Pecite dok ne porumene, nekih 15ak minuta.

Mummy hot dogs

  • 12 mini (veggie) hot dogs (or 6 regular ones)
  • 500 gr (1 pack) puff pastry
  • 1 egg
  • a little bit of mustard
  • flour for dusting

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.
Thaw the puff pastry and dust the surface with a bit of flour. Roll the dough to about 22-3 mm thickness. Cut 1 cm wide strips and carefully wrap them around hot dogs. 
Leave a little bit of open space around the "face" of the mummy. Keep wrapping in a crisscross pattern until covered. Tuck the end underneath the mummy dog (so that it doesn't unravel during baking). Repeat with all hotdogs. Lay them on on baking sheet lined with parchment paper or baking mat. 
Whisk an egg with a bit of water and brush each mummy. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

Draw on the eyes with mustard before serving.
